Jauhara's popular Belly Dance class has now expanded to a second night, specifically geared toward those who are completely new to Belly Dance. Jauhara teaches old style American belly dance in both Arcata and Eureka, California. She had her first lesson in Arcata in 1975, and though real life interfered on more than occasion, she never let go of it. Over the past 38 years she has performed and taught in Oregon, Washington, and California. Currently, she is teaching beginning and intermediate classes in Eureka, and is available for private lessons. In real life, she's a proud grandmother with entirely too many hobbies to list, and a degree in Legal Assistancy. Jauhara is teaching intermediate belly dancing Wednesday and beginning belly dancing Thursday nights at 7PM at Pathfinders Books 320 Second Street, Eureka 268-8469. $8 per class, please wear loose comfortable clothing and prepare to have some fun! Pathfinders is proud to host a continuing series of Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship-style magic classes, led by owner and operator Wade Long. Wade has over 25 years experience in practical magic, and is an initiate of a wide variety of Western magical traditions including but not limited to British Traditional Witchcraft, Ordo Templi Orientis and the Temple of Set. Classes begin at entry-level theory and practice and work quickly upward, leading students through a wide variety of magical practices. Notes are provided at each class, and student participation is mandatory, as is examination at the end of each course. Students successfully completing each series will receive a signed certificate. Pre-Apprenticeship Magic: Students learn basic magical physics, magical thinking, basic energy work and ritual structure. Earth Magic: Students learn psychometry, in-depth energy work, tokens and amulets, magical gestures and more. Air Magic: Students learn magical languages, sigils and symbols, words of power and more. Water Magic: Students learn divination and advanced divination, the use of color, number, music and more. Fire Magic: Students learn to cultivate the magic of pure will. |
